What are your favorite addons for Firefox?

Here's my Top 5:
1 - NoScript
2 - Adblock Plus
3 - Web Of Trust
4 - Stealther
5 - All-in-One Gestures (nice one!)

I have used Firefox since at least the 1.0.x releases were hot and new; and rarely find the need for add ons; in the old days IETab was quite useful but not always perfect.

It is my firm belief, that if a web browser needs to make up for it's own short comings through add ons that are *not* included in the installation package, then the program is a failure. Sadly, this includes just about everything but Lynx. There are is a sno browsers for power users these days...

I generally recommend serious web surfers to search for plugins that improve the browsers primitive (by modern standards) tabbed browsing support, and something like Greasemonkey or iMacros for automata: if they must run a piece of crap like Firefox 3.0.x.

I never got into using many addons, cause like you said, if they're not included it's just not the same.
Personally I am using Chrome at the moment and finding it very good.

I read your arguments and heard also from chrome (should check it out). Hmm...seems to be the fastest browser at the moment. To each his own. But for now i cant imagine to browse without my addons especially 1-3.
Take a look if u want ->

1 - mighty JavaScript tool https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722
2 - removes sales promotions/popups (99% worldwide) https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865
3 - helps you avoid the dangerous sites https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3456

There are addons for nearly everything you want to do in/with your FF.
But as i said - to each his own. Wink

"dangerous sites"? which would that be exactly?

Mines the adblock plus and linkification (link here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/190) (hyperlinks all http://www.*/http//* automatically - veeery useful on personal-profile-network-pages and forums where people cant use the hyperlink-function properly

The best way to avoid dangerous sites and phishing, short of inspecting packets your firewall lets through; is to be alert and pay attention lol.

Most people I know that have been infected via a website or gave out their 'personal details' to a phony website: either did something stupid or never noticed the site they were using was obviously a fake.

Tools to stand in for the human brain, are best suited when you've got dipsticks on your network; not holes in your security policy.
