does any 1 know when gta is coming out for pc iv looked around and the dates are all over, the dates say in october, november or december so can any 1 clear this up ?

Well, on the official Homepage, they write that GTA 4 for PC is due in November 08.

Plus: All GTA 3 Games (GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas) had a roundabout 6 month delay to the console editions. So I guess it could actually be due to the end of Nov 08

nope this is y new games and playstations come out and the games cost alot but a computer well it stays te same

If you have a computer up to date, at least the PC version won't lag.
On the PS3 the game gets a framerate drop when alot of things happen at the same time. Like car chases with multiple explosions etc.

Which program is that? A mix between Paintshop Pro and Photoshop 7?

GTA 4 for PC is released today. Normally this should be a great day...
This is not the case what I've read. You really need a highend PC-system to run the game smoothly - and even this seems not enough
It is a bloody annoying experience to get this game running and overall it is not granted that you can make it running at all:
Explanations as follows:
----------------------------
1. You have to install the following programs first:
1.1 Rockstar Games Social Club
1.2 Flash
1.3 SECUROM-Protection
1.4 NET-Framework
1.5 Games for Windows Live
1.6 Service-pack 3 for Windows XP
2. The game doesn't accept graphic-cards of ATI
2.1 Tests from a hardware-magazin with the following graphic-cards didn't manage to get the game running:
2.2 HD 5870, HD 4850, HD 3870, HD 3850 --> The game did not start and crashed.
2.3 There is no solution available so far.
2.4 Even with GeForce graphic-cards is a gamestart not granted.
When you have a powerful machine with hopefully the "right" graphic-card, have installed and registrated the above programs - even then you have to take care of the following:
3. Social Club must be running in order to start the game
3.1 Windows Live must be running in oder to safe a game
3.2 Tests showed, that the game crashes 3 times at start and only works with the 4th start.
3.3 If the Process-Explorer (Task-manager?!?) active, then SECUROM denies the gamestart.
3.4 Tests showed, that SECUROM denies 1 of 5 times the gamestart due to a NON-existing emulations-software.
When you finally managed to get in the game, these things annoy:
4. very long loading-times
4.1 you can't cancel the movie-clips at gamestart
4.2 the VRAM of the graphic-card limits the graphic-details
4.3 FSAA is not possible
4.4 fast camera-turn-arounds produce immense lags
When you are willing to buy GTA 4 for PC, then you maybe wanna wait for a patch...

The .NET fraemwork on the other hand, should generally be installed on all Microsoft-based systems at home.
Process Explorer is a separate program, think of it as Task Manager on Steroids ;-). Old versions of it conflict with SECUROM, dunno how it is these days.
From what you've said Duke, I think this game ain't gonna fly off the XBox 360 and PS3 lol. But at least we have SWAT :alien

Curse on Microsoft for getting involved with Rockstar in the first place. First there was the Xbox-exclusive extra missions... and now this.
Flash is no big deal though... it's obviously for the Social Club thing on the internet.
It's annoying and ridiculous that Social Club must be running to start the game though.
I'm not bothered about getting GTA4. I had a little try on my flatmates PS3 and I though I couldnt be bothered. Plus the graphics of most PS3 games are probably too demanding for my PC. However I'm getting San Andreas again, It's all you need, and my PC can run it

im gonna reinstall gta san andreas after i get my xp back cause i messed up a fie trying to mod it and really messed up i should have listened to duke aswell i need a patch hahaha rockstar is working on 1 atm tho so it should be promising
