Demotion

SAS_SSM_Rasa --->SAS_Trp_Rasa

CoH violation: disrespecting another member in a non-private setting; challenging the authority of a senior member and the Commission with regard to the current Selection Course. According to the CoH this violation alone may result in removal from the team. The decision we have made is to uphold the temporary ban from TeamSpeak until 4 Sept 2008 and, rather than dismissal, a reduction in rank to Trooper. This is in large part due to respect for his length of service.

This most recent behavior, when coupled with a pattern of past behavior that we believe makes it more difficult than necessary to keep the team on its intended path toward growth and member development, has necessitated, the above verdict.

We expect and anticipate some turnover in the clan since a few members hold Rasa in high regard and will no doubt see this decision as harsh. While it would be unfortunate to lose some members, we are prepared to accept whatever losses stem from this decision and move forward with a more aligned team.

I have known Rasa since before I was a Rct.... And I very much think of both Rasa and Leon like my "brothers", more so then most of my teammates. Since I heard about the TS ban, I've been expecting a hurricane to make landfall in one form or another, only it's a hurricane I've worried about for ages.... I'm in no way really surprised (other then that this didn't happen long before this, sorry to say it mate). The last time a breach of conduct of this sort happened, in so long as I have been a Member. It ended with James being Dishonorably Discharged from the team by the Commanding Officer of the period (Shield), instead of demoted by GCHQ. So I can't honestly consider this a harsh result, even as much as I care for my friend. I don't like this course of action, but it's not my place to have to like it, because I am bound by the same code that stretches from LtCol on down to the youngest Cadet. Even so I would have to say this is rather lenient decision... considering history in more ways then one, and how much diligence GCHQ has for this team.

I do hold Rasa in high regard, with great respect for his service to the team, and I've trusted him a lot in many matters throughout our respective times in [SAS]. Most especially, as SSMs I took care of tending RvS, and was always content with Rasa watching my back on the SWAT front he so enjoyed. And as one of 2 of the most active workers on the SOP Rewrites among other things. As I've often said, I enjoy being with people while I can, b/c I never know what the future holds. Whether or not Rasa accepts GCHQs decision,

I know one thing though, at the end of the day: my final loyalty does not rest with any single member of [SAS] past, present, or future. I know what I signed up for, and it's still here and very much alive, as are those who protect it, and they have my service in due regard. So am I here for as long as I may be apart of this team! I'm here even if the paint peels and the bucket springs a leek, because this is still the [SAS] I know and love.

I hope more then a few of my teammates feel that way as well.

I totally disagree on that decision because I was there when this incident happened that leads to that not justifiable demotion.
This is a direct break of the CoH by GCHQ, because a member of GCHQ must have been "punished" in that case. You clearly show us the two worlds of SAS as I experienced before.

All the latest actions showed me that our leadership doesnt act like they await and order it from their members. I dont see the decision as harsh, I see it as hilarious. This is just a personal thing that cant be judged by facts and you know that.

Keep in mind that most of the higher ranked guys who like and respect Rasa are 30+ and it is not the fact that you demoted Rasa, it is what I saw and how you handle this clan. I have tactical clan experience of more than 10 years and even got money for playing those games. I know how to run a clan and how to play those games.
I really must say that it is a shame what happened in the last 3 month.

Hereby I take my personal consequences for no longer trusting in the ability and the decision of GCHQ and resign. I cant fullfill my job and my duty as wished from this organisation. So it is just fair to leave, because I am a honest person and I wont stay here while "doing what I want to do". I always did as ordered, but this is no longer possible.

But thats no longer my problem. I am sad, tired and disappointed of what this clan became in the one year I was a member of. I tried always the best to fullfill my duty and strengthen the clan and its members. But it seems that sometimes you can fight as hard as you can and it is not enough.

Please dont forget to take away all my rights also as an admin on the website. Be sure that I never abused the trust you put in me and never read a single line in areas where I am not allowed to by my rank (but as Admin).

I wanna thank all the members that trusted me including GCHQ and all the ones who played or got trained by me. Thank you for very nice 9 month of my gaming-life.

The consequences that may follow because of the demotion of Rasa has nothing to do with him as the person Rasa. I did mine because of the last actions of GCHQ. So whatever happens because of my resignation, this is all Timbo, not Rasa.

@Spidey: Nice post, I was also here for the clan not for a single person (except Lake and Scout hehe), but as a grown man I look maybe a bit further and not only in front of me.

I wish every single person of SAS no matter what rank all the best for the future in their real life and of course all the best for SAS as a clan.

If someone wants to ask me about my decision you are free to contact me via Xfire.

Have fun guys....the first of the three amigos is now gone

Timbo, I will not defend or elaborate on the GCHQ's decision, because I am satisfied that we have been fair and evenhanded, and judged the merits of this particular case in connection with other issues building up over time.

Alas it is a GCHQ decision, SAS_Maj_Wiz has for obvious reasons don't wanted to take part in the decision making. He was involved in this last incident in a row of several, that ended the way it ended. For me, this shows integrity.

The SAS has a level of Trp/NCOs/SNCOs that work hard and puts a lot of efforts into bringing the regiment forward. During my years in the SAS, I have not experienced such an interest and devotion as we see today.

Enough said. A demotion is an order. Orders are not subject for debate. We all know that.

First of all, sorry for my english, i really did my best to write this down

Seccond, i dont expect everyone to read my full text but i believe that to whom this concern, well, they will read it

timbo and lake are the reason i joined the clan.. specially because all tatics in swat that i learned were teached by them. i had my problems on the clan and some of them with rasa. i dont agree with this big demotion and i dont agree the "army style" the clan is taking to treath the problems. I wont resign SAS because i still think that we can hold it. me and big joined this "boat" together believing that sas is a tactic and respectfull clan. seems that some guys forgot friendship or worst, that we are just having fun playing a game... i will stay on SAS but deppends on how the gaming go, i will not stay alone on the server.

Mostly the whole SWAT team left the clan, specially regular players and all the guys who used to give training - and teach others how to train. Before it was hard to find swat server with some SAS, i wonder now... what will it be? me, chester and duke? common guys!

i dont agree with the decision made but i will accept it. i have no more words to describe how a great loss for the clan is the resignation of Timbo (best tatic guy i EVER played), Lake (always the kind guy that is there to help you) and Rasa, a strong voice on the clan, specially on swat side. Loosing this 3 guys may not be the only loss of the clan, that i wonder how will handle this. I dont believe that what was done can be reverted, but i really wished that when i joined the forums today the only server that was crowded was the Chit Chat one.

I really hope that SAS-SWAT division will make it. but i cant lie i will ask Timbo, Rasa and Lake for advices on tactics, etc., they are just the best. Hope to meet you guys on the server. it was an honor to be your recruit. It was an honor to play with you.

I was in total shock from the post about Rasa all the way to Timbo's. I cannot believe what I am reading. I will say that I disagree heavily about both the Demotion and Timbo's leaving, but I will not leave [SAS] as I came for the tactics and teamwork, not the individual people. This is a terrible loss for the [SAS].

I also heard about Lake's resignation, we've lost 2 of 3 amigos. I'm speechless.

Timbo, Rasa, Lake. I respect you all very much and I hope to stay in touch for a long, long time. Best wishes.

Us here on the SWAT side of things (hate to say side, but it's still true to some degree unfortunately) will do our best to keep it going. Duke, Semper and myself, also Big12 and Scout when they get back from leave.

Rasa, I knew when I saw Randoms message that you wouldn't take the demotion... And I respect your choice fully. I do know though, that this ain't the first time you've gotten yourself into this sort of thing.

Timbo, Lake. I'm very sorry to see this come to pass -- surprised not really, sad, very very much.

Timbo.... You are a very good man, I'm glad that you've taken this in a very mature and honorable way, as befitting you. I don't agree with your findings, but I don't have to. As you've posted in the members forum, I will reply more fully there.

Lake, I've replied to your post in Members, if you don't or can't read it when you're online again, I'll send you my post if you wish, same goes for Timbo.

I'm still sorry to see you go, because I know exactly what each of you have done.

I am shocked at the choice to demote Rasa.

As i do not know the set of circumstances in which this decision was made. As soldiers of this clan we must respect the decision made by GCHQ. I myself hold Rasa in respect as he is my superior in this clan and that he is a well liked member of the clan.

The choice to demote is one that is not taken lightly and im sure that GCHQ have gone down all the avenues. This is not the first time that an SNCO has been demoted to the rank of trooper and im sure he wont be the last. For the soldiers that have choosen to resign in protest they do this at their own free will. For the rest of the soldiers in this clan that this wont dishearten you about the clan. This is a rare event, and this wont tear apart the group. SAS Rasa is a still in the clan, and im sure with hard training that he already has under his belt im sure his rank will increase in time, as all of us with rank have done already.

Disciplining another member is always hard, Ive had to do on ocassion. Doesnt make you feel good in fact makes you feel terrible, but at the end of the day it has to be done.

I expect all soldiers of the SAS EVR to rise above this and crack on with the great work that all SAS members are doing to make this the greatest clan in the community.

Chester and Semper.

Make sure that you are not alone.
We will rise the mighty swat up again.
Its gonna be a tough one, but we will do it.

We will need your hard work in the weeks to come.
Lets discuss this matter on TS later.

I'm realy surprised to what i just read. I don't realy know what happened that lead to that demotion so I won't say anything about it.

@ Timbo: I had some good games with you and you gave me some good tips even if you are more a SWAT player and me a RVS player

@ Rasa: I didn't play a lot with you but it was always a pleasure to play with you

@ Lake: I don't know you a lot but I remember that you gave me an introduction to the SAS clan and I thank you for this.

I hope you guys will have fun in real life and in game and I hope to see you on the server sometime.
