And I thought my computer was crap....naw That's a sick computer Wiz, I told you that G15 is a sick keyboard haha. One thing I would have gotten though, is a wireless mouse.
I'll never see why people use wireless mice though, if you have a laptop or an office rig sure but for gaming I've yet to see a wireless rat that offers constant performance.
Before I switched from Wireless Optical to Wired Laser I used to have batteries dying often (weekly / bi-weekly some times) from the usage and mouse speed dropping off as the power levels went lower. Several Adversarial players I have bumped into over the years have also said there wireless mice used to 'lag' a bit more in the movements.
My PC came with wireless mouse and keyboard, switched to my wired optical ASAP and soon later when the keyboard demostration similuar annoyances (batteries, power effecting performance, laggy keys, e.t.c.) I switched it for a semi-standard PS/2 model.
I prefer Logitech too. I have -->this one<-- for laptop use (awesome mouse, btw). And a relatively old Logitech wired optical one for the stationary computer.
My wireless optical died during a tryout once, and subsequently hit the wall at around 90mph...strangely it didnt work again after that.
For gaming..this G5 is the mutts nuts...4 programmable FPS rates, 4 buttons, rocker on the wheel and a cord that is longer than the river Amazon..its so long i tied it into a loop.
Glad you like the PC....i really hunted for the case, eventually got it via US import. Gloss black with a combo of white and blue fans really looks nice, but when i put my black G15 with blue keys onto it, I think it looks like a proffesional package.
120mm fan on your psu? Must be big one... (though it doesn't look as big as your rear fan)
Ah, the stories about wireless devices. I still remember some about students in dorms saying someone "hacked" their computer and was controlling their mouse pointer, but it was really the neighbour on the other side of the wall...
Laptop wireless mice tend to last longer and be smaller... but for most of us, we would want "gaming" mice, and the features that come with it (higher polling rates, customizeable buttons, changeable dpi on-the-fly, better mouse feet, etc. and the G5 has a unique weight system). I think he meant DPI, not fps.
To me, the G15 costs too much for a keyboard... but, as always, some like it a lot.
Yes Grish, I did mean DPI...i can actually set 5 of them, via a simple tool but really i only use the 1...i sometimes use the 2nd one in adversarial for a 'quick' scan with da eyes.
The keyboard was probably the single most expensive part of it. But now it needs an upgrade, im not changing the CPU untill i have the RAM and XP64, but i kinda wanna wait untill 4gb sticks are released, then i can go..
CPU= 9600+ Phenom
RAM= 16gb DDR2 800mhz
OS= XP Pro 64 bit
But secretly, im waiting for SAS_Medic to give me a report on the Phenom.
The upgrades looks nice. She'll appreciate the make-over
I'm planning a new Desktop computer myself actually. My current Desktop from 2003 (Pentium4, 2.4 Ghz - which I only play Ravenshield and Ghost Recon on) has become ridiculously slow, and outdated.
And I'm tired of the Asus Notebook I've used as a primary computer since 2006.
The Desktop will be something like this (from http://www.komplett.no):
- Antec Nine Hundred miditower case
- Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3Ghz
- MSI P35 motherboard, 1333Mhz Front Side Bus
- Corsair TWIN2X PC6400 DDR2 4GB RAM
- XFX GeForce 9800GTX 512MB GDDR3
- Corsair Powersupply 650W
- Western Digital Caviar 500GB SATA2 HDD
- Without OS (I already have Vista Business 32-bit)
The "Antec Nine Hundred" case looks awesome. It has good ventilation and lots of room for upgrades. On top there is a 200mm fan ... which actually produces less noise than the 120mm fans.
I got it before Wiz!!!
Ok seeing as i have a new phone, i was able to drag the pics of my pc from my old phone...
My mouse and Keyboard
The Beast from the front
The window Side
The rear view..note the huge 120mm PSU fan!!

Wireless with the W from Wtrouble. Batteries running out, slight connection error...
Never had any problems with my wireless.
Now that is a PC

I have had the same batteries in my mouse since around November, the performance hasn't dropped at all. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones
This is my mouse:

Nice, here's mine.
Also works fine with GNU/Linux and FreeBSD systems running X11 6.x and 7.x.

And all this just makes me want to bang my head against the wall more.... because my comp just doesn't come in.

What do you need to know wiz, i just stress tested Medics computer now
Well i just felt that this machine was getting too old now, so ive just spent a bit of cash upgrading her.
4gb unbranded 667mhz DDR2 ram is now....
4gb 128-bit 800mhz (overclocked to 1ghz) DDR2 Crucial Ballistix, Tracer RED 2x2gb matched pair
added...
1x 500gb Maxtor 22 32mb cache SATAII hdd
2x Sony DVD-RAM drives
Next month... 24" Widescreen LCD monitor
She is picking up momentum gentlemen!!

Crap.... That means that I have to upgrade mine too....
I only have 3 gig memory, but I run XP, so no need for more, 2 320gb hard drives and one 360gb and a 20" lcd screen
Phenoms are hot, so watercooling is on the wish list for a more silent rig
Now I realy need a tool to that can remember the affinity settings for rvs.
The upgrades looks nice. She'll appreciate the make-over
