Problem on TG #3

Alright, here's what happened:

I joined for a round on TG #3 today (around 1440 CET). We played on Mt. Threshold Research Center, and I was in nom4k's element as #2. SAS_Maj_Random was present but on the other fireteam.

My problem was with a player called Sm1le (pos: #1), as he was constanly disregarding orders from EL, had no respect for standard entry procedures (stacking up, entry, etc.) even when noted several times, and was basically erratic in behaviour.

I had to take point several times since he was just waiting crouched with a LTL shotgun (ignoring EL's loadout orders) behind the door on hinge side, compromising team safety (door open, tacaids hot or deployed). One time I believe he shot Balrog (team RG) with LTL shotgun. I even witnessed him executing restrained suspects (floor one, left corridor). I confronted him, and he replied that he is russian, and asked if I knew how russian SWAT works.

Later on, after stacking up at a door (nom4k was KIA at that time, Balrog assumed command), Sm1le rushed out another open door, but I was busy covering the door we stacked up at. After a few moments, I heard shots, and the mission was failed as Sm1le apparently executed restrained civilians a few meters away from out positions. I rushed there to check the situation, when Sm1le turned towards me with his sidearm (M1911 if I'm correct) aimed at head level. After a second, he began firing (he fired 2 or 3 times, and hit me at least once in the head), and I shot him in the head with my M4 (killing him immediately).

Thing is, I got banned from the server immediately. I'm sorry I had to resolve it this way, but I believe it was self-defense as Sm1le was erratic and couldn't be reasoned with nor I had the time to properly inform SAS_Maj_Random. I would still like to play on TG #3, so could anyone please remove my ban for the server? It would be appreciated.

Hey Joska..
i've played with that guy but i cant remember if he done any trouble..
altough, i have to agree with Yuke.. just like u said, Random was on the server and he could at least have kicked this guy...
You know u wont be banned from the server (until someone undone it) couse you are there for long months and you are an excelent player..
just avoid killing people in case there is a admin online (either on xfire or on teh server). Take a SS and post it here, Duke will be pleased to hunt that guy out
heheh

It was like being in the Twilight Zone. People were popping in and out of the server. They were voting map changes in the middle of a round while we were still playing. During one of those I got dropped by the server and had to rejoin. Enough spectators actually voted YES to change the map in the middle of a game!! It was totally out of control. Some were using team chat, others using global. No one knew what anyone else was talking about.

There was a loosely formed element working surprisingly well in the server. They had no real formation but they were not acting stupidly. There were some oddball run and gunners in there at the same time making things difficult. They were blended into both teams.

While my team was focused on its objective, the other team was typing feverishly at each other but I was only getting one person's chat in my window. Things like : stop it or don't do that ,or are you seeing that, don't do that, what is he doing etc. bitch bitch bitch moan moan moan.

Then a hostage got shot; then more jibberish about people not behaving then Lufthansa (don't really care how you spell it--this is shorter) shot one of his teammates who was later determined to be be the problem player. I was watching tangos and such and not reading every single line of chat. I had also toggle ignored several of the other players because 12 year old voices saying "cover me" or "go go go" kind of ruin the illusion of being immersed in an elite tactical team.

Prior to that round, after kicking people for voting maps and such, I had established that I was the admin and that I would deal with situations. Going from total lawlessness to absolute strictness was quite a transition for them and they thought they had a say in what should take place. They were all rather slow to catch on.

Not once did anyone have the idea to stop bitching and simply ask me to warn or kick a specific person.

It was only a few seconds after the death of the hostage when Sm1|e was TK'd by Lufthansa. Having told everyone that I was the admin and that I would take care of things, they, in my view continued to bitch about players as if an admin were not around.

I banned Lufthansa and all the bitching stopped...except for Ohad (maybe 12 years old) kept pestering me about my decision. All I wanted was some fricking peace and quiet. The only violation was the intentional TK of a teammate. If my solution was not the best, it was due to their inadequacy of relaying the important information via global chat or through VOIP.

I saw the following details in rapid succession:
hostage killed
accusations fly
teammate die in apparent retribution
quick ban to get everyone to just shut up and let me enjoy my round!!!

In rounds that followed it was clear the Sm1|e was an absolute idiot and I think I banned him, but he came back later (something I think is really wrong about SWAT4 btw).

Anyway, Lufthansa was apparently collateral damage. He certainly didn't help himself out by not asking for admin assistance leading up to his stand off with Sm1|e.

Yeah, I know I hadn't acted according to the rules (which I know, understand and appreciate), and I take full responsibility for my actions. I acted out of reflex (and maybe frustration). I just wanted to clear things up by explaining things in detail from my point of view. By the way, I was already contacted by Duke to settle this. Again I'm sorry for making such a mess.

To LofaszJoska,

Our rules in our server are quite specific, we do not want TK'ing to take place. That rules does not specify instances of self defence, justifiable TK'ing or any other term that a person wants to use to explain their actions.

By choosing to conduct yourself in an unsuitable manner, you created a situation that required our Major, and current residing admin, to resolve.

This is a game, and whether an idiot in the server kills you or not, is actually quite minimal in importance, you will live again, to fight another day. Had this idiot shot you, as you feel would have happened, had you not shot him first, he would have put himself into the BAN scenario with our admin, and not you.

Everyone can claim, whatever they desire to claim, end result was that you chose to TK in a server that does not permit that conduct. Had you taken a mature approach, and not opened fire on your teammate, the admin would have observed the Idiot performing the TK and banned him instead. The round would have been reset, no harm done.

Instead you elected to lower yourself to the playing field of an idiot, and you lost. What was achieved ? Nothing of benefit to you I can assure you.

As the server manager, I have the authority to reverse bans as needed. In this instance I will not overrule the actions of our Major as I find his behaviour and conduct to be justifiable.

A reprieve from your exile, will only be granted by Major_Random, should he chose to make such a decision.

Mate i think what Enforcer was getting at is that you should apologise to Major for the happenings not just wait for his final word take my advice

I know Dallers, but thanks anyway for trying to help. (honestly, no sarcasm intended)

I'm sorry I had to resolve it this way

Again I'm sorry for making such a mess.

I just don't like to repeat myself too much. But I *am* sorry all of this happened.

I'll look into removal of the ban. I don't know your id. If you email it to me, I'll forward it to the server manager. Thanks.
