I have to agree and disagree with that above quote!

Vista ROCKS for usability and the way it works smoother faster and more facilities the looks are great and Windows utilities run sweet with it AND the big point is SWAT 4 runs Mint on it!

BUT

Xp runs nearly 95% of my games that Vista doesnt because im using a laptop its hopeless lucklily i rarely play pc games anymore and use my 360 but still i miss many of my games and the compatability settings do not work like they do on XP.

Overall Love Vista after 6 months but for hardcore gamers dont bother!

I run XP on classic view..with most of the cool features turned off.

Vista has a horrible way of being my nanny..."oh no you mustnt double click that!!"

Please....give me a break and stop asking me twice if i want to run something and understand the risks....of course i do..now just f%$ing run the program for me!!

Hehe i hated that part of Vista... so I quickly turned it off. Of course, it promptly asked me "Are you sure you want to turn off User Account Control?", whereupon I promptly would've thrown my keyboard across the room, but its kinda part of the computer (laptop lol) so i had to settle for chucking the mouse at the wall.

I've never tried vista and although I would like to "test drive" it although I wouldn't want to own it :o)

I've never had any issue with windows ease of use aisde form cmd.exe (it's really childlike for a cli imho). My main beef with all versions of windows is the God Complex it has.

The oh we are so infantly smarter then you, you couldn't possibly want to do some thing so simple as change X.Y.Z. !

Not the way to design an OS imho.

I own ALOT of PC games..Windos XP Compatible....
If I did buy a new PC that came with VISTA, I would use my handy dandy "Wipe Drive", and install my XP Pro anyway....

Even the old Windows Office ie. Word, Excel, One Note, are XP compatible and I paid $600.00 bucks for that program 3 yrs. ago. Sad

You know spawn, if I recall correctly one of the guys who worked on Windows 2000 once commented that if the compatibility work they did with Win9x wasn't up to the task he'd be dishonored or some thing lol.

Microsoft, the vendor must well known for softwares backward compatibility..... hehe B:

Vista is very protective of its bowels. But I want the right to blow my computer up whenever the hell I want to.

In my view its pretty simple:

Guys who doesnt "work" with their pc like Vista. Because its colored and nice and big screens and animated.....I think my girl would love it.

Guys like me who have to work with the PC hates it, because Vista is trying to be "your nanny" like Wiz already said. They ask you for every command 3 times if you are sure of what you are doing and also likes to deny permission even if you are full-admin.

So in my view: Right now, Vista is crap. I had it and now I have my good old XP with "classic views" only.

You know I am a man, I dont care what color a car has, I wanna know the strenght of the engine!

Vista also takes a lot more of your internal memory a.s.o...

Cause I have a lot of contact with Microsoft employees, I ask one of the managers (engineering), what the crap they are doing right now and if he really thinks that people like me are able "to WORK" with Vista as OS.

All he answered was:
*cough* official -> yes
inofficial: I wont install it on my own PC before the first big SP is released!

Nothing more to say Dirol

At least Vista does not crash, like XP does. I've had Vista Business Edition installed for 13 months, and it has NEVER crashed. It handles problems very well.
(When I say "crash" I mean the system freezes, so you'll have to restart the computer).

Yep. That's one of a few things i don't like about Vista.

I can't blame him lol.

One thing I like about having to root pw on my systems is I'm the only moron if I 'break' stuff, b/c nothings broken without my order in 2 years of BSD and even then it was me snapping a USB port lol.

vista might not crash but it has an odd way if ignoring your settings.
