Do you still have the papers that HP sent with your computer? Usually retail companies have a list of the parts in your computer and a brief description. You can probably see what kind of slot you have there...For the other guys, you might have to tell them a bit more so they know what you're working with.

Thats your mobo, and its form factor is microATX
Therefore all those nifty gfx cards out there, wont fit your machine..and i bet you were looking thinking..heh that card is actually bigger than my whole pc.

I have one of those machines too...very nice, but in terms of gfx upgrades, you are talking non-existent or very expensive.

Buying another MB seems like an easy resolution... but at times it can be a pain in the .... itself.

There are many video cards in the AGP category that will give you awesome performance at minimal cost.

My current system runs AGP 8 and I am running a 256 mb card.. I have no issues with any games so far...

Replacing your MB will cost you $$... getting the new card for the new MB will cost you $$ ... factor in the time necessary to reinstall almost everything.... cause swaping the MB will often make your Operating System instable...

Unless your willing to invest the time and money involved with a major system upgrade... which a MB replacement is.... then I would spend time looking for a high end V card that meets your current configuration.

TigerDirect is a global hardware distributor (http://www.tigerdirect.ca) and they have many AGP graphics cards... provide a Credit Card and they ship it directly to your door... pop it in and your off to the races...

Just look over the docs for your board... and determine if your running AGP 8 or 16 as that will directly affect the cards available.

A new mother board is one thing but you've got to make sure the graphics card will fit in the case Smile

My GF8400 came with some kind of low profile mounting kit but it's a full size PCIe card.

Why people would buy smaller then a Mid-Tower or Full Tower for any thing you consider upgrading.... is beyond me.

My PC is just a regular desktop with a microBTX mother board and it's cramped as can be in side even with a normal case :\. The blasted SATA connector to the Mobo was routed across the case, over the expansion slots, and in front of the cooling fan... it's nuts in there... and cost $1600 bucks !

Basically, as Spidey touched upon..a new motherboard wont help you here.

For the others who have never seen a MicroATX board...his motherboard is basically the size of 2 gfx cards side by side
9.6 inches square..in real money Wink
