TG#3

I had a suggestion/ question; Why don't we leave TG#3 open to the public during weekdays, and Lock it at the Friends PW level on weekends?

I feel such a change would allow those few(in the words of DUKE) "Pearls" out there to shine during the weekday, and would allow SAS and the well established "Friends" of SAS to play without any of the other public players.

I was just thinking about this cause Behavior problems on TG#3 have been a problem as of late. Now don't get me wrong here. We still hold those players accountable for their actions. However, Im sure others, as well as myself, would like to spend their weekend gaming time to relax and enjoy the company of friends and members. I would bet that the players of TG#1 would say the same. Furthermore, those "Friends" are the "Pearls" I speak of so some alone time with SAS would greatly benefit them as well as us members of the SAS. Rct, Trp, NCO and Officer alike.

An interrestign idea. I believe it would be pleasant for us. Let's jsut hope we wont clsoe the door for some interested players that could only play on weekend.

I vote yes for starters

Very good point. Something to take into account. I still feel that locking the server on weekends would still out weigh the loss of those weekend warriors. It could also build unit cohesion. An essential ingredient in any team.

sounds nice scout. i mostly just can join on weekends, so if I got on there there are sometimes so many "noobs"(sry for that word hehe) online that you cant play a few nice rounds. Blum 3
And it also would be nice against some rambos, who joins on weekends. Exclaim Exclaim

I voted no.

1) SAS is already not getting enough SWAT4 rcts. Locking the server decreases the flow of Potential PRs (:D).

2) A weekend is long, the server will probably be underused.

3) It's always possible to have good games with SAS and your friends if you just take tight reigns on TG3

Good idea, Scout Exclaim Lol

In fact, the last few days there's more trouble on TG#3 as usal. Maybe due to school-holidays...

But keep the point of Rasa in mind: We have a lack of PR's on TG#3 for sure. Closing the server for 48 hours can't be in the interest of SAS concerning recruiting.

However, I voted YES with the limitation in mind to lock the server ONLY on SATURDAYS, where most of SAS has time.

I am sure this would be a good agreement for all.

I am looking forward to extraordinary good and serious games with SAS and friends on Saturdays in the near future... Lol

By no means is this suggestion, in any way, meant to undermine the recruiting efforts of the SAS. PRs will be out there still and will get out what they put in to their time on TG3. But for the 1 PR there are what? about 10-20 rambos and lone wolfs? Admining the server is no problem believe me. We see trouble and its gone. Thats fine. Like I said its part of the responsibility of a member to ensure a good time for all. A day or 2 of TG3 locked however would allow us more time to build together as a team. Also our "friends", who are the current PRs anyhow, would get valuable exposure time with the members. Any SAS not having to utilize his admin authority cause some 13 yr old said *#!% is able to mentor a PR/friend in our tactics more effectively than if he were dealing with such foolishness. This in turn promotes a good comfortable climate in which all players SAS or not, can enjoy and learn more or just plain have fun together as a team and as friends, privately.

What I was thinking is having one of the days on the weekends designated for training, just having some real planned out missions for an hour or two, and after that, we can unlock it. I'm not saying we lock it the whole day, but once SAS start to fill up the server, we lock it, start training or just get some good planning and playing in.

I voted NO

Because SAS Servers are public and all can play on them but we can easily kick people off our servers if we need it for Clan Business or just if a player is being in total breach of server rules.

Then lets make the weekend clan business day(s). I know Saturday is the day when most of our TG3 members play. And when we're on it,we're on for a very good portion of the day. Well into the wee hours of the next morning for some. It would be good to know that the next player(whoever it is) entering knows us and how we play. Regardless of if its a member or "friend"/PR.

Sniper, the server is public, sure.

But all members pay for the server in the one or other way: Being present ("server-police"), donating money, administrating the homepage, rewriting the SOP's, holding training-sessions, training recruits or whatever...

--> So only ONE day of "peace" shouldn't be too much... Lol

And I really recommend Scout's suggestion, because the regular members on TG#3 know what hell there can be...

It is useful if you can take care of troublemakers - but it annoys if you must do that ingame during a mission...
...and this several times a day.

Sniper, don't take that personal please, but you are not so often on TG#3 in order to see the facts clearly.

Let there be a peaceful Saturday... Lol

Re: TG#3

Well for what I have in mind for possible future stuff.... Might require locking the server 1 or 2 days a week for 2 to 4 hours at a time hehe.

Personally I think it would be kind of nice to lock the server to friends level part of a day (maybe 8-12 hours) during the weekend and then reopen it. I think locking it for approx 48 hours at a time is a little to much in my humble opinion. When giving out the friends pw, I've generally considered the Potentional Recruit &| SAS Friend & Trust Worthy equation in my choices on the matter, so I don't have a problem as long as it's Friends Level.

I trust [SAS] Members not to only play one day a week on 'locked' day hehe, because if they do then it would effect the Selection Course -> Other wise it shouldn't be a problem.

I was just thinking about this cause Behavior problems on TG#3 have been a problem as of late. Now don't get me wrong here.

Trust me... I have been playing SWAT4 almost since day one, almost before if you count the beta... And this has been a 24/7/365 problem of needing constant super vision since then lol. Now at least we've got a lot of [SAS] Members in our SWAT4:TSS Server these days hehe Smile

Before I was a Recruit and while our SWAT4 Dept was still very young... After waiting through 5-6 hours of gaming, almost my ENTIRE game day. Once we finally had like 3 [SAS] Members on the 5 Man server. I felt like YES!!! I can finally have an hours worth of decent gaming! Let the nubs run for cover...

Then when I became a Trp, I remembered I had to be responsible for keeping order when no one else was around :'(. If I knew how I'd write a dang bot to do it for us....

This also due to the fact there were only 5 slots, and no remote admin.

Even in todays SAS, With all the members/PRs/friends, I enjoy it most when there are anywhere from 3-5 of these players on the server. Then I feel like the same way Spidey did even though there where only 5 slots. We can finally have some fun. And it seems that Spidey has the best compromise for such an issue by locking the server on a Saturday for 8-12 hours, and perhaps a few on the weekdays. Now to estsablish which hours.

What about locking the server on Sunday evenings beginning at 6pm GMT until 4am GMT? Most of the recruit turnout would be during Fri and Sat and Sunday morning anyway. The members and friends could put a nice finish to the weekend with some organized game play before returning to reality on Monday.

Members can always lock the server if they decide to have a tactical game on the other days of the week, as long as the server is reset after the game is over.

Like you all, I see the value in having some "alone time." We just don't want to block off an entire day--in my opinion.

I am not taking anything personally mate. i was just putting my view forward.
The servers are always easily locked for when we want it for clan business, also it doesnt really matter so much time i have on TG 3 i like to think my opinion is equal to everyother member. all i was trying to say in short is "Dont fix something if it isnt broken".

I suppose this calls for the vote of SAT1800-SUN 0400 or SUN1800-MON 0400GMT.
