hi
I just wonder why you all don't have Iron Wrath.
You can download IW here:
http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/ironwrath/
There a some new weapons, new maps (which are the best i've ever seen in rvs!),a new intro and a new campaign!
The campaign is great. I only played the first level of it till now but this level was great ( i use this word very often )
It was a hostage rescue mission in a university map.
The hostages weren't shown on the g-map so the map was tricky.
If you want to install IW and you are not from the UK or the USA you have to download the US version! (NOT the UK version!) and you have to change your game language (Redstormentertainment\Raven Shield\System\RavenShield.ini) to "Int" and
After the installation you can change it again.
There aren't many players playing IW (only Grishenko,Jonsi and me :D) but i hope i can see some of you on an IW server soon
we had a server running it...2 years ago!!, then we got bored of it and changed it back.
Lt_Col WIZ, VC, MiD (Ret)
ah ok
But y don't you get bored of the normal rvs maps and weapons?

I had Iron Wrath up until the time I got this computer and had to uninstall RvS on the old and reinstall it on this one. Because Iron Wrath is like downloading an ISO, I never bothered to reinstall it since we don't have an IW server.
I also never bought AS, never had the money while it was in stores. When I first met SAS, they ran TG#1 RvS Coop and TG#2 AS Coop and once set it to Advers for Force on Force training.
Most of my important training was done in a 2-Man Element with SAS_Trp_Rand on TG#2 Iron Wrath while other SAS Members played in another Element lol.
ubi really dropped the ball when it came to adding the new expansions which died out quickly
"Game over man." Pvt. Hudson. SAS 22nd E.V.R.

How do i download this ?.....do i have to pay ?!?!?!?!?! :?

I boil it down to laziness and popularity. The core of the game doesn't change much - the expansion adds many textures/maps/models, playing modes, and a few weapons. Most players I would think have broadband by now, and ~900mb should not take long at all.
The people who have tried it, end up forgetting about it or uninstalling it because it didn't catch onto the existing RvS community. The 1.60 patch which breaks many things in the game, mainly featured support for IW and voting. If we didn't play IW it would've been much nicer to stick with 1.56 (though I suppose voting can have its moments) which also could've made custom mods more popular.
But, as already mentioned, all support for RvS was basically dropped after this was released... Even though this isn't popular online, it's still worth it to grab it... and maybe have a couple rounds with the others here.
Some may have played some IW maps in RvS (they were "ported"), but they are relatively huge. There are 3 remade "classic" missions from the previous R6 games/expansions.
I remember someone asking me what weapons there are, so I'll post them here. Basically, one new weapons was added to each category. I'm not too sure of the names and specs (whether real or not etc. but what I remember of them).
SMG: MP7, optional scp/supp, semi/auto, 40 round mag
AR: Type 89F, optional supp, semi/burst/auto, 30 round mags
SR: SR-25 (scp), optional supp/thermal, semi, 10 round mags
SG: Jackhammer, optional scp, semi/auto, 10 round mags
LMG: UM-100, no attachments, auto, 100 round mags
Pistol: Glock, optional supp, 17 round mags
They all have the typical munitions type available for each category. Don;'t remember the cmag options, but the Glock with one is limited to 30 round mags, which isn't that much of an advantage considering its regular size.
Each of them has its similarities to existing ones (MP7 similar to the MP5K, etc.) but my fav. addition is the LMG. It's rof is slower than the others, but this allows for greater accuracy when firing for longer bursts of fire.
wow this post got long.. I guess this is what happens when you're waiting around...
Sniper: It's free You can download it off fileplanet or another site/mirror, but you need to get a key from the fp link that was in the 1st post (this part doesn't require you to be a fp member).
Type 89F is a nice assault rifle but can't use a scope with it so it's not so good on longer range maps
IW's weapons are worth using but some of the remade 'Classic' maps are werid. In Rainbow Six the 2nd level had Tangos with AK47/AKM, not Glocks and MP7 PDW's ! lol.
If you get any problems with it and have to redownload, just delete your cookies and re-registor or use a diff e-mail.
Type 89F is a formidable well-rounded weapon, but I find I like it suppressed... but on the other hand, I find using a suppressor on the MP7 is pretty much useless.
That map itself was well done, but it was made too easy. If they added more in the building itself (the roomclearing, esp. upstairs is TIGHT) it would've been much more of an interesting challenge (as I seem to remember in the original). Having most of the tangos outside makes for easy pickings.
Iron Wrath is actually still installed on my desktop computer, since 2005 :).
Actually, I love IW and the maps there. Yes, I am a fan.
