Just moved to Houston when this occurred. Remember following it with great interest, as at the time the new weapons systems were being deployed in combat for the first time, i.e., exocet missles, etc. Ironic the anniversary has occurred at a time like this, where Britain is facing another crisis with Iran.

The Exocet was a french invention (enough said)....good job we had MI6 buying up the rest of them so the argies never got their hands on anymore of them to fire at our ships. The harrier proved itself a valued aircraft and put its place in RAF history. As for UKSF, the rio grande raid was perfect....a raid that stirling would be proud of. Paras and Royal Marines taking the fight to them at goose green and tumbledown oh and i must forget the guard regiments who fought aswell.

there you go valroe a little taster of the operations involved in the falklands war Cheers

Rio Grande never happened..as it wouldve involved 240 SAS members and all Troop leaders signed a doc refusing to actually take part. Several missions did actuallly take place in Argentina though, involving the SAS
