I've been screwing with my .ini files for performance ever since I first read about how on this forum. My old system was 2ghz / 512mb / 128mb gfx. Most of the tweaks have stuck even with 3.0ghz x2 / 2048mb / 256mb gfx.

;user.ini - User Profile Config File Name=SAS_SSM_Spidey ; I don't use fluid peeking m_iFluidMovementSpeed=900 ; Maybe this is why I love how fast the mouse is in RvS MouseSamplingTime=0.008228 ; I always use the highest refresh rate for my res ShowRefreshRates=TRUE ; RavenShield.ini - Game Config File ; I have 2gb of ram CacheSizeMegs=512 UseSound=True TextureMinLOD=0 TextureMaxLOD=12 Brightness=0.500000 Contrast=0.500000 ; I like things a lit brighter then avg. On this monitor Gamma=1.300000 ; best performance increase FPS wise I ever got ; WARNING setting to _very_ high values may reduce performance MinDesiredFrameRate=70.000000 ; this was mats idea ConfiguredInternetSpeed=5000 UsePrecaching=True ReduceMouseLag=False ; You need at least software T&L support to play UseHardwareTL=True UseHardwareVS=True UseCubemaps=True UseCompressedLightmaps=True UseVSync=true

I have a PDF or PS copy of the guide some where if you want it. Good to see this hit the forums though, people tend to forget all about it if they have never had to 'live' with it. Just to get decent frames.

My first computer used to drop to 0-5fps often before I did this, even now I still tweak it for best frame rates. (50-70fps).
