Trivia Cont...

Okay, so we've gone through a few questions, all are American based, forgive me, but here's another one.

The M1 Carbine is well know to many, and was the majority of the weapons used by airborne units, because of it's folding capability. With a 15 round clip it packed a punch that could compete with it's "big brother" the M1 Garand.

So!! How many shipments were there of this M1 Carbine throughout World War II? Notes: These shipments start from 1939 to 1945, so no speculations can be made. And, who invented the "Garand" weapon?

BTW: Laz and Eagle, good games yesterday. Laz, we destroyed those guys, i really hate the Mortal Joselin, he's a pro shotgunner :ohwell: Eagle, we'll turn you into a pro yet, just keep it up.

I cannot fathom that the Lord has blessed us with logic and rationality and have us forgo their use.

As far as number of shipments... I don't know at all.

The "Garand" weapon was made by John Garand, a simple man who enjoyed games of chess and ice skating in his living room.

Not a clue about shipments iather.

I do know that the M1 Carbine and it's decendant variants served well on into Vietnam with several advivors and is argublly one of the few weapons I'd really like to try out, not just to see how it handles but to enjoy.

Hello lads

The engineer units of the Danish army and the “Kongelige livgarden” off the Queens personally guard regiment used the M1 until 1989 where it was replaced with the German HK G3 7.62 mm. this was again replaced I 1995 with the Canadian C7.

In “sergeant school” I was in the last class that was educated on the weapon, and man what a shooter it was, the accuracy of this weapon without a scoop was marvel’s (I shot my first gold batch in marksmanship on that weapon). Then the army sold 40 % (like 20.000) of the M1 to Canada to bee converted in to hunting rifles.

Well, Merge takes half credit, still failing though Smile

Hmm, well, there were 2 shipments of M1 Carbines. The first shipment was of standard wooden stock rifles, the second were non-standard rifles with metal folding stocks, the choice of American Airborne.

Wouldn't have gotten that...

Looking forward to the next question (and a time where some of us can play a little CT versus. I could use some help as well... :glasses: )

Well Merge, me, Laz, and Eagle are gonna be on at about 4:30 PM, and on from there, tomorrow, so be there if you want. Laz says he's gotten better and I'm aching to hit em in the head with a grenade.

lemme think a second here....

Why and where did the Third Army have to stop. Who led the Third Army at the time of this stoppage. BTW, the third army I'm referring to is american, so have at it. Hint: Everybody who has heard of WWII should know this general's name. You may have seen him in front of a huge American Flag giving a speech Smile

General George S. Patton.

Come on Langley, you can do better than that!!!

A question for you sir...

What was the purpose of the Zeppelins flown over Britain during World War II?

This is a fairly easy one. Have at you!! :ninja:

(I'll be there tomorrow as well- I assume you mean EST time?)

You forgot the second part of the question Merge.

The zeppelins were used for anything the germans thought of. Carrying bombs, spying, dropping troops. Heck, I even think at one point I saw Japan flying hot air balloons over to America in an attempt to crash them into buildings. I guess war brings out a bad kind of good inginuity.
