Wow, that's a darn shame. May he rest in peace.

I always enjoyed his programs.

My thoughts go out to his family.

Yes this was a rather big story here as you can imagine.

I think every single aussie new within the first 2hours what had happened, it really spread extremely fast.

However almost everyone couldn’t believe it because it was such a freak accident. Only one other person is known to have been killed by a normally harmless stingray.

Our harts go out to his family especial his wife and two daughters. I think that his elder daughter (Bindy )will have a really hard time getting over this because Steve was out there shooting a documentary for her, unfortunately I'm sure she feels partly responsible.

Even as I type this and watch some American News (because its 0512) here its making the headlines. Its amazing how much of a star he really was.

Sgt Jakub

PS: I do however assure you that no other aussie actually talks like he did.

I agree with you totally Jake. However, they say a cat has nine lives, and he did; to be fair, use more than that by far.
Very tragic, but i feel it was inevitable, given his line of work. The stingray as you say makes it even more bizarre, as i have stroked them myself.
Ive said for years..one day, they will get him.

Truely a shame... my tears are shed for the children who do not have a father anymore and for the wife who is now without a partner.

He died how he lived and you gotta respect that.

Yeah, I recently learned (how bizzare is this?) that Steve Irwin was the first stingray caused death in over 60 years. :embarassed:
