Hello, I am a little frustrated with codec issue and thought I would give this forum a try for some help. I downloaded a few of the WC Futbol games, they are in Xvid format. When I try to play them, I get no audio. The error I get from Divx v6.2 player is Audio Tag 8192. Windows Media just says error in downloading codec. I have browsed on Google this issue and seems to be a problem a lot of people run into. I tried downloading a couple of Codec packs that claim would address it, but they failed too. Anyone here have this problem and manage to nail it down to what is needed to fix? Please advise if so.

If that dosn't work try the Windows port of MPlayer /w GUI.
I can send it to you (Under 3.4MB) it has allot of codecs built into it and plays just about any file I have ever been able to feed through it. (No DVD Menu support though:( )
I downloaded something called K-Lite codec pack. It means I can play almost everything I've ever come across. Just google that if you want it, it's easy enough to get hold of.
yes that is quite good.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I managed to narrow it down to a specific codec called AC3Filter. After installing this, all my current media players worked fine.
the way to go is the k-lite codec pack,
It's avaiable from Free-Codecs.com and comes with Windows Media Player Classic. Aside from Vlc its the best option out there.
