Map pack released

I have released the SAS_James Map Pack for RvS. It contains the following maps:

SAS_Hallway
SAS_CP_Airport
SAS_CP_Penthouse

The Hallway map is entirely by me, and the others are customised by me from stock maps.

You can find the file in the downloads section in Stores, and also at THIS LINK. I have even done you a nice installer.

The Hallway map is a long corridor with small rooms down both sides. Absolutely anything could be (and is  ) in those rooms. I designed and made it originally as a training map. It was designed to train shooting accuracy, target recognition, and reaction to difficult circumstances. Each room is very carefully set up. However, the map was chosen to be used for the ATA (Advanced Training Award) test, and was only ever completed I think three times in that. Now it is returning as a training map. If you are out of practice at RvS, then a few minutes on Hallway will get you back up to standard. It is a hard map for sure, you really find out about how my mind works  with some devilish setups, and to make it more fun for yourself, I suggest playing it on your own first until you have discovered all the rooms yourself - nothing worse than spoiling the surprise by watching on spec.

SAS_CP_Airport was the first map used in my Close Protection series of Live-Ops (for details see http://www.sasclan.freehosting.net which is my live-ops site, and yes we will soon have it all on our main site). Good team work is very important for the CP maps, see the [SAS] CP Guide

SAS_CP_Penthouse is my personal favourite live-op map ever. Mostly because Penthouse HR is my favourite stock map, and my version turns it around so you see a similar scenario from the other side. I love it and hope that you enjoy it. It certainly made a good live-op.

Note that the versions published here are slightly different to those currently on the server, so could JB please update the server ASAP.

James, there is something horribly, horribly wrong with you. That hallway map is just not right.

In days gone by... as James says, the HALLWAY map was our Test for the Advanced Training Award. Now that is has gone public... James will have to make something even nastier.... muhuhuhuh....

The map was split into two sides.. the right side of the hall was test A and the left side was test B. You had 3 tries to complete a side all alone. You had to start at the first door and could only proceed to the next door when the area was cleared and secured (meaning door closed). You must follow SOP's to the letter... including V comms, even though you were alone. You could bring any Tac Aids you wanted.. but could use no more then 3 to complete a side. You also had to maintain a comms with TOC and update them as you proceeded.

Individuals who passed the test were awarded a golden dagger by the CO to be prominantly displayed on the mighty page...

Now you know what it takes to pass... give it a try.... oh and by the way... you need 100% to pass, no errors at all. Everything you did had to be observed by the test Conductor... if you made errors... he ended the round and you started again....

Good Luck.

I dunnow about the test, but there is only one person I know of who came close to completing on his very first attempt at the map, and that is SAS_Random. It was amazing, it was his first run at the map and he just completed all the rooms one after the other, until very near the end. Very impressive stuff from our (then) CO.

The only reason Random didn't pass on the first time was cause he didn't want to make everyone else feel like crap. I mean, the man could blink and the terrorists would give up.

EDIT:
Go typos!

Random must have enjoyed that map.

I spent at least an hour just using a MP5A4 loud+auto trying to see all the rooms. I did good my first hike I hit that dark room and lost my toe on the way down.

Oh boy would I like to see what could possible top this map ^_^
