Nvidia Quad GPUs

i see that ALIENWARE are now putting dual- nividia cards in there machines, each one has a dual GPU, making 256mb Quad GPU SLI Gfx, Very nice u may say.

The question is, where can you buy these seperatly. I priced a box up at nearly £6000, Yeh fat chance!!

I don't think you'll need quad-power for a few more years. Innless your are a real die hard for Gfx.

My bro has dual GF 7800GTX (He's a gamer). I have a GF6200. Get's the job done. I'm not a gamer by trade; the only reason I still play games allot is the [SAS] Smile

But at least nvidia means there will be support for the PC-BSD operating system via a newb proof installer for nvidia drivers on high end PCs:D

I would if you gave me my dream machine.

Custom workstation grade Mobo.
Dual Pentium D 930 or higher dual-core CPUs (Or Intel Core Duo 2 chips when they come out)
4 GB DDR2 RAM expandable to 16GB (That way I can run Vista and have 3GB to game on haha)
a pair of Geforce 7900s in SLI
Creative Labs best Audigy card
Dual wired NIC's and a WiFi card
DVD Drive that burns/reads any media.
DVD/CD-RW combo
Floppy disk drive
9-in-1 Meda Card slot.
1 x 80GB SATA or SCSI HDD for Windows
4 x 150GB SATA HDD in RAID config for Data storage + backups
2 x hot swap drive bays for use with non Windows OSes.
750-Watt redundant power supply and high grade UPS + really good surge protector.

Oh and a 22-Inch LCD screen, 104-Key wireless keyboard, best gaming mouse /w only 5keys & a wheel. 5MB Cable connection.

And did I mention, that since the NICs and Wifi would be GOOD stuff not crap this entire dream machine should be supported fully by my primary OS, PC-BSD. Dunno about the fancy mouse though heheheh.

What spidey said sounds cool, but I would opt to have 4 of the 22 inch LCD screen and what ever else I might need to run them.

Oh and a new house with a large basement which has perfect air conditioning which I can call my gaming den. Plus a butler who I shall call food bot.

Total price, well over 100 thousand pounds. Maintainance, over 30 grand a year.

Times that by my predicted life time you get millions of pounds.

GF7950 is a Dual GPU card I think, Dual 7950 SLI = Quad GPU.

I remember it was GF79x0 but I forget the x on the dual gpu model someone told me about.

Rel, yours will be exactly as Spidey said

Dual GPU, so a 256mb card will become 512mb
