3 tons

3 TONS OF AMMONIUM NITRATE CONFISCATED

3 TONS!? That's enough explosive to level a small town. And that's no exaggeration, when you consider a bag of explosive material + one container of a particular combustible substance and an ignition source= The destruction of a 1000 sq ft house.

That suggests to me car or van bombs, and lots of them. That's what the IRA used to do when they couldn't get hold of purpose-made explosives.

its getting more and more common for terros to use home-made devices, due to the much tighter controls on manurfactured explosives, for example the London tube bombs main ingredient was bleach from the supermarket.

bleach bombs

Bleach actually contains chemicals that are also found in RDX; the main component in C4 and many other high explosives. I will not reveal the method of extraction, not because I don't trust you guys, but because the process of creating it is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and would likely get you killed. I've had my share of homeade bombs to deal with, most of which were black powder, but criminals are becoming ever more savvy. I blame the internet. :ninja:

I know, you could probably look up how to build a nuke before 911 =/

What has the net come too!

At least now things like that should have been well removed to a secret goverment server where they forgot to password the root user lol.

unfortunatly in the UK we are well accustomed to such devices, u cant beat our good old IRA friends :ohwell:
If anyone knows of Manchester, they used a truck bomb which actually took out the city centre as one of their exploits.

I have a friend who was a British Army ammunitions technician, bomb disposal to you and me. He spent six years on solid 24hr callout sorting their toys out.

3 Tons. At 08:20 EDT my eyes aren't decieving me right? 3 tons? I may not be an explosives expert, but that is some heavy duty stuff there.

So close to 6/6/06? Something is going on. I may not believe in all the bad vodoo on days like that, but someone does. Makes too much sence.

I think I saw last night that the authorities either know the date when whatever was supposed to happen, or they have a very good idea. But they won't say publicly. July 1st is Canada Day though.

Well if they planned to storm parliment and take MPs hostage, does'nt the house adjourn for summer recess at the end of June or so? Must've been close in any case.
