Every single member of 'The Regiment' does very dark and dirty stuff everyday of there lives as part of the SAS, for Queen and Country. A select few have decided to 'cash in' on their work while 'inside'. That i dont agree with; but dont completly disagree with as long as its true and not derogatory.
McNab lies about everything and yes it was his fault soldiers died on bravo2zero. He was patrol leader, and the sole biggest part of their shortcomings was that their patrol radio wasn't working due to the wrong frequencies being given. It solely rests upon the patrol leader to check that everything works, and to re-check. BEFORE leaving friendly territory.
I have read his books, and although i must admit they make good reading. I have since learnt about 'what really happened' or at least a more convincing story.
Chris Ryan was a real hero in that mission, but even he felt the need to dramatise things to 'hollywood' proportions. Why??
I have no doubt that McNab was a very good soldier, characteristically unique some would say. However he upset a lot of friends after leaving, including fellow SAS, SAS commanders, and the MOD in the process.

To this day, he does not receive an army pension, despite retiring of his own accord. I wonder why?

That reminds me I never got to finish watching Bravo Two Zero.

Well if he hasn't suddenly "died" in an accident I doubt if he's pissed any body off to seriously Wiz.

I know if I was incharge of a something involving Black Ops if one of my men retired and started writing books about any of it I'd have a man on his door step with a msg saying Shut ya mouth. If he said anything about something classified The guy would come back with a syringe full of drugs incase he says no. Make it look like a OD Smile

Maaayyybeeee I just play too much Metal Gear though:D

I think u do Spidey.

If McNab suddenly dissapeared that would be a bit obvious, if he died of a drug overdose that too would be completly obvious. He is too high profile to just vanish. He lied, he doesnt get any money from the british army, thats enough to say they dont agree.
