I used to play SWAT4 with an early P4 and 512 RAM, /w X-Fire, AIM, TS ontop of background system proc's I'd usually get that whenever I tabbed out.
Maybe it means your filled up your RAM and Page File? Dunno I haven't gotton it in ages. But the only way I ever got my system to speed back to normal after one of those messages - I think having a Page File that is 2 x RAM helps. (Ether that or allot more RAM & Page File & CPU & VidCard lol)
Well Recon we almost speak the same language so I can say I´ve got the same message (virtual not visual) several times.
Mostly it means (well, for me) that you have too many programmes running at the same time.

It means that your computers RAM has filled up and you computer must now use your hardrive to store temporary data. This is much slower, you can do several things to fix this.
1. get more ram
2. Clean your pc of uneeded background programs
3. run fewer programs at a time
I am sure any of Rand's posts on this subject would help in terms of Ccleaners and anti spyware type stuff
Don't know what the correct translation to English is for this word, but my "side file" (It is a place in the harddisc, that windows uses like it was ram) shows 272 MB used.
Clean out old useless crap, run CCleaner or simular, defrag the heck of your Hard Drive, disable pagefile / reboot to safe mode defrag it, then set the page file to double your ram (custom size > starting at 2xram, ending at 2xram = you'll see it when u look). Reboot into normal. Really helped me at lest.
I'm using 350MB with WinAmp, FireFox, X-Fire + Chat Window, + Download of BF2 Patch, + FireWall, + Sound System Stuff and I've got 2 gig's of ram! lol.
The whole point of virtual memory is that you don't run out.
I find that sometimes I get that error message inexplicably, when I am nowhere near out of memory. Most often from photoshop.
I don't think you need to do anything Recon, unless you get it all the time. If you do get it all the time, it probably means your hard drive is full so you need to delete stuff.
One other thing, go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Performance Settings -> Advanced -> Virtual Memory Settings and make sure at least one hard drive has the "System Managed Size" option selected. Other hard drives should have "No Paging File" selected. On those settings it is best to have windows decide sizes and stuff.
Recon probably picked up a lot of spyware from browsing questionable sites....ones showing a lot of pretty ladies perhaps? lol! Now your ram is tied up by all them programs
For best results run 3-4 Anti Spyware systems + The MS Anti-Malware thing. Ontop of virus scanning your entire harddrive daily till your computer melts down from the protection implaced on your windows system:)
becareful there with multiple programs especially anti virus ones. they will see each other as a problem so its probably best and safest for you to have the one antivirus and one antispyware program
Yeah, skip those sites with mysterious links Recon. At least t r y to skip them ok?
Better do it with a real lady

check ctrl-alt-del
look at memory usage, end any programs that have huge numbers for no reason this will reset them and empty the blocks of memory they are using
