Ok, my passionate little convosations aside - yeah I'm cracking but shes my baby.
Gateway (What woman is perfect?) GM5045 I think.
Shes got
Intel Pentium D 930 Dual Core 3.0Ghz/800Mhz/2x2 2mb L2 Cache with each core running at 3.0 Ghz
2 Gig Dual Channel DDR2 Ram
Geforece 6200 /w intregrated TV stuff (PCI-EE x16 slot)
Sound card ? Unno but seems to work ok. (Prolly intregrated)
TV Tuner
DVD +/- RW DL (w/e - dual layer DVD/CD Rom RW drive)
DVD-ROM
9-in-1 card reader
500GB SATA II Hard Drive Disk (Remebered why I always say HDD ^_^)
Wireless Keyboard /w net/quicklaunch/CC&Paste buttons
MS Basic Optical Mouse - I didnt want the included Wireless one.
My Nokia 446XS 19 inch CRT monitor - running at 1600x1200 px
With Windows XP Media Center Edition (200GB), PC-BSD I'm installing soon (200GB counting swap space), and FAT32 partition for file sharing between (50GB), and a few meg's of Recovery partition.
I wanted to just reformat so I'd get 200GB NTFS instead of like 485+ but Windows would ONLY let me give it the ENTIRE disk other then the recovery partition so I loaded up my Knoppix 4.0 Live CD (Linux) and used QTParted or w/e it is to srink C: to 200GB, make a FAT32 G: for shares, and free up 200GB for PC-BSD. I tell you if I do PC Trouble Shooting I am not leaving home w/o my knoppix if it involes harddrives.
She cost me $1600 USD, so her name is SAL1600...after HAL 9000s sister . If I yank out the 56K modem, and if I can use the GF6200 without the other TV Tuner card do hicky I can free up 2 PCI-E Slots later.
Also got 7 USB 2.0 and 3 Fire Wire, front/back audio jacks.
Remote for TV stuff e.t.c.
LOVE MY BABY.
Maybe I can get my bro to take a digital picture of her or us if he's got one on hand.
You name your Pc? Spidey your mad.
Lt_Col WIZ, VC, MiD (Ret)
Not to be disrespectful, but how much does she cost ?
As all women are -- i bet she is expensive..
SAS_Rouge
Good gaming PC spidey, just make sure you get the best out of it with new games otherwise its worthless. I mean your not buying it for Raven Shield.
im happy with what I have if it works thats all that matters
"Game over man." Pvt. Hudson. SAS 22nd E.V.R.
My life is heading more into computing stuff, programing, html, net, e.t.c. And about all I've been doing latly for games is related to [SAS] My Home Online always:)
Going to do a quick research of the VCard and CPU. So far all works well except I can't get my mic to work period!!! Maybe I can get ma to let me use the crappy SBL Value sound card in the Dell - after all it is a family part like my Raedon VCard in her PC.
Going to install PC-BSD before I worry about the mic tho, and I gotta install RvS/S4/BF2.
BTW as I said be4 SAL cost $1600 US standard Dollars Hence her name is SAL, model # 1600 ^_^
SAL like Sally?
Its a very expensive computer. Your 500GB hard drive will come in handy when your storing your information.
The price sounds ok to me. thats what a new awesome computer cost.
Yeah but I wanted 2 HDD's so i could give a disk to an OS and get 4 partitions to windows, and 3 to BSD + 1 for Swap space.
Nice computer Spidey,
Congratulations!
only those who will
SAL Sends her thanks:)
This PC is getting to be my baby lol
Computer & country music. Spidey -- I am slightly concerned. May be we ought to find you a date w/o partitions and sound cards?
SAS_Rouge
Does she get embarrassed when you open her up? :P.
  8O 8O 8O
How do you keep the CPUs cool? Turbo Jet powered fan (she must purr quite loudly) or liquid cooling system?
I'd love a LCS:) If it didn't make harder to work inside the core.
In the case of my system, the CPU has like a gigatonnage of heatsinkage on it + a big air duct/fan w/e going to the front air vents. And inside around the mobo it's mostly clean of wire frenzy + All the best ventilation thats not owned strictly by the PSU; she's only noisy when the PSU Fan runs which appears to be rare for better or worse. My video card alone runs a 65C normal temp at the desktop - compared to the Dells 85+ C on the weeker ATI card.
For air flow - the cables from the PSU to the 5.25 drive bays is a bit of a tangle but it's the only area with reduced ventilation - and the PSU has plenty for it self as well as the rest of the system.
I guess that is a normal temp for PCI-E cards, at first I thought it was high. 6600 AGP runs at 38 C full steam, but PCI-E is 4 x faster, so decided that must be normal.
only those who will
Well any thing beats 85 C 'ish normal for a less powerful AGP 8x card running out of an AGP 4x slot. (if that matters)
Just noticed Rouge/Leons posts.
ROFL.
At lest computers come with headaches:) Not headaches and pain on top of pleaseure
