Now translate. Biggrin

11:44 Without having a clue what he's saying, I think he's talking about on a center-fed room, splitting the door the operator(s) clears the depicted areas. You can understand that. I believe he's talking specifically pre-clearance before stepping in; the half-angles and front. Leaving the hardcorners the danger areas, that he fills in. Talks about the fatal funnel and I'm guessing how it's more coned than linear. Why? That's basic CQB. What he teaches is called the Israeli Limited Entry and Israel sure know how to fight in rooms.

Looks like talking about specific parts of the drill, for instance when you get to clearing the hardcorner you have to be on-line with doorjamb to stay out of the biggest danger zone and possible ricochet zone.

So, when he moves onto the practice he's talking about how you have to line up with the door angular, not being straight because of the said threads engaging from the corners will make a cone-shaped fatal funnel and hit anyone who does not properly use cover and their body to get off those angles. It looks like he does a lot with angles, that specific entry has a lot of content on angles, and specific angular areas to be cleared. It changes with speed though, this is just standard but fast/emergency level speed it changes.

He talks about chicken-winging at one point. Keeping the elbows down. And engaging then doing a quick search and assess, getting the muzzle out of eye level to check then move to next stage.

When doing it with two people he must be talking about you have to keep shoulder to shoulder, and shuffle step to clear the hard corner, Not sure.

My idea of CQB is running in with a sword.

Try this (Russian language, but pretty much everything is self explanatory) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9fNBMFPyQg

Спецназ ФСБ, фильм Александра Сладкова (Spetsnaz FSB documentary demonstrating a war against real terrorism by Alexander Sladkov, there is a version with English subs but I couldn't find a single upload of it) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsC7Ae28KzU

Also, a very good movie (Rather a compilation of documentaries) by the same author named simply Спецназ (Spetsnaz) explains how special forces fight terrorism all across the globe, it's a very good one sadly I can't find the link as it was removed from YT, though you can do a search online and find some uploads or just buy the whole movie)

All 3 videos are ~1 hour each.

Also, something interesting to read (Polish and Russians, the most distant of relatives) - http://english.pravda.ru/society/anomal/09-04-2013/124232-polish_russians-0/

Bonus - Система (Systema) the worlds most famous and well known (Among special forces that is) hand-to-hand combat technique. The technique is unique in that it requires lowest amount of moves and energy used for a much greater impact, the official website offers DVD's (In English too) and live lessons for a reasonable price, so if you are into such stuff that's the best you can get and from anywhere in the world, a quick demo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uOszNGbr9Y

The serbian and others Balkans countries w/o turkish vestige in the foundations of language have more similar with russian. But poland... I will think twice before tell that. ). Yes, maybe a bit. But... NO. Wink

Agree about Polish not being similar with Russian. I have a colleague who is from Poland, together we work on a design project and can't help but notice I don't understand 95% of what he says in Polish when he does speak some of it.

About the balkani languages, I have to disagree with that one. Being half Macedonian myself thus having the families in Macedonia (also residing periodically) I can say that Macedonian is mix between Bulgarian and Russian while Serbian is mix between Ottoman and Polish (It's not even close to Russian not even in the accent) Hungarian (Originally called Maghyarr) Is a mix between Russian and Ukrainian (unsurprisingly so the culture and people are similar to those in Ukraine) also old Ughur, Romanian is like Hungarian with an exception it has the harsher and faster dialect, the only two languages from balkanis that come close to Russian are Bulgarian (Very same accent, same words with some being altered etc) and Slovenian (Which is a mix between Polish and Russian sort of, same accent, a bit different words) Croatian is very similar to Serbian and Bosnian is similar to Slovenian accent with an exception it is a lot more centered around old Ottoman (Which by itself is Turkish-Arabic)

If that got you dizzy just think about this - the whole balkani area is even more messed up than its languages and origins Lol

P.S. I forgot to mention some

Montenegrin is like a mix between Croatian and Slovenian, Kosovaar is a mix between Sqhiptar (Itself a mix between Ottoman and Arabic) and Hindi (I might be wrong about that one though) while the Serbian minority there speaks a language similar to Croatian/Slovenian rather than Serbian, few also speak Russian but it's a rarity.

Ayy Max, my English is not great but yours is killing me) (No offense :P)

I will try to answer that. Where did you hear that language you think is Serbian, and by whom? If in Russia, it might be someone with mixed origins, those usually do have a different version of Serbian (That version , with other balkani countries languages is called Tatric, from Tatars who immigrated to ex Soviet countries from Balkans and far East, I'm not sure however, I don't speak the language myself even though I was in the country few times.

Did you mean are Macedonia and Serbia related? I would say very little, Macedonia (Not the Greek Macedonian, but Republic of Macedonia, there's a huge difference, Greek Macedons are in Greece, it's an area or more of a State while Republic of Macedonia is a country) is far less impacted by the Ottoman jihadism that once used to rule the balkans than Serbia is. Traditionally though, the two countries are in mild relations because of their past as members of Yugoslavia, but other than that there is a noticeable difference most notably in the cultures. It's very complex, but if you want I can actually explain because you can't really find the true history about the region online or in books, only snippets and propaganda.

Oh that, now I understand Lol

Admins, if this is unfit for the forums (Albeit unbiased and not about politics) feel free to scrap this into a PM message, send it to Maxim and then delete this post. Also, sorry about me and Maxim being off-topic here.

Well, here's your answer - Just like whole balkan, Macedonia (and all other countries) are split to pieces and have pro western and pro eastern people. Today, you can find many pro-Western people (Modern "democracy" which is actually jihadism under a false name) which is mostly present in the far South and along the Albanian borders by Albanians, Turks, and other middle eastern countries, there is a modern pro-Eastern part of Macedonia (Central which is where I am now, North which is near Kosova and some parts of the East and West) which is made from mostly Christian Orthodox (Septugint) Macedons like myself but also others from the balkans like Slovenians, Hungarians, Bulgarians, some Serbs as well as a small number of Russians (From Urals, also Christian Orthodox by Septugint).

The old culture you are asking about (Great Alexander and the Greeks eh? :P) is long gone just like the Great Greece is nowhere to be found today either, it is evident only in the remaining 10% of the macedonian population and among the heritage and cultural values left by those 10% as predominant pro-Western Albanian minority (Some 40% total) is trying its best to unsettle Macedonia for a conflict much of like in Kosova and the modern pro-Eastern majority is strongly opposing conflicts and blending cultures together in order to keep the country stabilized thus you can see many muslims and Christians living together in Macedonia. As a result, starting from 1990's onward there are several NATO bases in the North as well as other Peacekeeper bases (Russian too) all over the country as there are many covered terrorist acts and clashes by the minorities and majorities in Macedonia.

I am perhaps lucky to be descending from the good old-Macedonian tradition, at least partially. The city where my grandfather was born and raised (Ex Tetovo, now Tetova) used to be like the old-times Macedonia up until 1998 when things stirred up by the conflicts in nearby countries and many Albanians immigrated from Kosova to Macedonia to evade the conflict, now there is only one street in the city left that still resembles the old Macedonia and there are only around ~100 old Macedons who live there but what was once is now gone.

It is also worth mentioning that traditionally, most Macedons study and work in their country so they can travel across the world and unite with their other families (Myself included) and from there influence their country financially as well as politically. The so called ethic-cleansing is only partially to blame for the degradation of old-Macedonia actually.

Simply put, what is happening in Macedonia now is what is happening all across the world most evident in the West (US, UK, etc) which is degradation of traditional values, immigrations, law changes, culture changes, etc and so on and on until history repeats itself all over and over lol

P.S. I sent you a PM with real history of the balkans so it helps you better understand my replies. If anyone else wants a copy ask me and I will send you a PM. The message is simply too long for a single reasonable post in a thread.

Couldn't find a better thread to put this one in and didn't want to create a new one just for one video.

I found this video in my featured video feed after watching some videos on youtube, it's definetely worth watching as it's a rare one to find these days.

Usually, real HD systema videos are very hard to find online, unless you subscribe for a systema session that is, but the video bellow demonstrates just how good this combat technique is and even more so explains some of the most commonly used techniques by police officers (In Russia and abroad, of those who apply systema in their training that is) and compares it to both Kung Fu and Kick Boxing as well as few other martial arts.

Enjoy watching and make sure you check the guy's channel, he has plenty of these (Ex Spetsnaz operator sharing knowledge for free on YT)

Kung Fu vs Boevaya Systema (Combat Systema) (Russian and German speech, no subs, but self explanatory, 1080p vid) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ef0xG70NMo

Got to love zero-effort attacks as demonstrated in the last few examples in particular Biggrin
