SCP Foundation

SCP Foundation (Secure Contain and Protect). I found out about this site just a day ago and i find it really entertaining and the files are so well written it almost sounds real.

Ok to show you what i'm talking about here read this quote from yahoo answers that sums it all up really well:

"Basically, this site is a collection of fictional works that its members contribute that deal with the "paranormal" or even just plain strange findings. They range all the way from a television working without a broadcasting station, to deadly creatures that have never been encountered. To sum it up in a simple sense, it's all fake information, but definitely entertaining to read all the files that the members have written. They're all well done, and highly believable, despite the strangeness that it details.

There are upwards to 1000+ different files written on these findings, and even to the lengths of detailed experiments with the findings. The SCP Foundation is kind of like the Men in Black, if you will. Except they deal with much more than just aliens."

Take a look at this one: http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-173

Tell me what you think Smile

How do you find stuff like this? Lol

This is exactly the kind of stuff hardcore propaganda is made off, that, and scariest nightmare movies and books.

It's fun to read, but I have to note that while it may still be fun to read, some of this information (graphical or textual) is real and is heavily edited and may result in dozen nightmares for soft hearted users, so I recommend you don't visit this stuff unless you are tough and can think clearly afterwards Wink

Kind of like a wikileaks for UFO's and mutation.

I love reading the SCP site, when I first found it I was wondering 'man, is this real?'. Biggrin

@MAVEN: No, none of the entries there are factual, real or even [DATA EXPUNGED]. Sure, they may have a basis/took inspiration from real life events/images etc, but there isn't a super secret foundation currently containing 344 or anything like that! The images themselves are real or edited, i.e the picture of 682 is a photo of a rotting Beluga whale corpse (the photo came from a russian news site about the finding of the corpse, iirc) and 173 is an sculpture artwork created by an Asian artist.

There is also another game about the SCP Foundation that includes various SCPs. SCP Containment Breach is made by idependent developers so it doesn't look very nice compared to modern games. It's a survival horror game that can be quite scary though.

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=DpmE5Wy7YMU

You're a class D subject (so you know you're screwed from the start) and as the name of the game implies there's a containment breach...

The first SCP you encounter is 173 (see the first post above) so as long as you are looking at it it should be fine right... except you have to blink in the game, you control your blinking and can't have your eyes open for a long time. You feel powerless the entire time (there are no shotguns or rocket launchers) and once you spot that statue thing in the dark looking at you...

And there are a few other SPCs too out there with you. It's a really small file and if you enjoy reading the files then try experiencing it from the poor test subjects point of view Lol

I think you can get it from here: http://www.scpcbgame.com

I remember there being a bug with the saves or something unfortunately, can be quite frustrating. :/ I never finished the game because [DATA EXPUNGED].

I've heard great things about SCP Containment Breach, love the inclusion of 173 and especially 106.

106 really creeps me out the way he [REDACTED] in the walls and just disappears into his 'Pocket Dimension'. Especially considering how tight his containment instructions are. The stuff of nightmares! D:
