Maybe if I work up the courage I will try that later. For now I am too frightened to mess with things with a warning label, and I'm definitely not practiced with this HKEY stuff.

I will try it later tonight.

Haven't messed with that yet. I've been working on helping my brother move and doing job interviews yesterday and today. My cousin is sick so if I can take the job of taking care of her, I can probably get plenty of free time to work on my computer tomorrow.

Hey there Yogi, So you have an Modem (For wireless) and a Router (plugged to phone line) if that is correct, maybe they both need configuring, if you have an spare wireless adapter try using that in your computer, this use to happen to my Laptop when it also use to shut all my other devices off the network, how i resolved this was because of an encryption error if your Modem is password protected, Then you may want to try and change that password to WEP or WPA2, They can also have problems when it comes to connecting to the modem. On the other hand it could be the Router which is detecting a problem what could be the case in an issue where it's not coming through, If i'm correct Your Desktop must be connected first, i believe.

I don't know what my problem is or was, but my computer works fine on other networks. I don't have internet at home so I can't even test it anymore, but it seems to work fine at various friends' houses. I don't know if it's fixed or if it was my ISP the whole time, but I really couldn't tell you or test it anymore.

I really appreciate all the help and concern you guys have shown and your willingness to try and help. Hopefully when I do get internet again it will all be a thing of the past. Screw the starving children, I'm praying for good, consistent internet access!

P.S. I am just kidding! Please God, don't strike me down: I have so little to live for.

That proves it was either your ISP or your router Wink

Yeah ISP for sure, They should provide like an online Chat! here in Aus, whenever I have a problem with the Network or anything, instead of calling by the phone takes long! Sad Though sometimes it's more confident of chatting online. Good luck and hopefully your ISP can resolve the issue hopefully it's on their side of things. No worries Yogi, I remember last time we were playing you had to reset the router after playing a map Sad Let's hope fore the best it resolves (yn)

According to the ISP's magical online chat, their service is not available in our area. They have billed us and provided us service for year(s?), so it is obvious that they don't have a clue what they're talking about. They always transfer me to some other representative that should know what's going on, but then that person transfers me back and I end up in a loop of "we have no clue". It's obvious that when Centurytel merged with Earthlink (Centurylink), something went terribly wrong. At this point I don't even want to do business with the people anymore. I will be looking into buying satellite internet for my family, and my Grandmother will pick up the bill when I move out. This is mostly for our business needs as I'm like 100% sure that satellite latency will not fit my gaming needs. Once I move into the city, I will have internet options. I'm earning money at least, so that's a start. I really hope to be back in action by this summer at least.

I figured your ISP was not that good (for not saying the four letter word).

Time to get your quality internet bargain, Yogi. It's out there, you just need to look hard enough for it. Wink

You have to be aggressive on those phone lines Yogi. The sooner you are gone for them, the better.
