RVS Error

So I got a new computer, re-downloaded RVS on steam and...

Operating System (OS): Windows NT 6.1 (Build: 7601)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 2195 MHz with 2047MB RAM
Video: No Video

Can't find file for package 'R6Menu'

History: UObject::SafeLoadError <- UObject::StaticLoadClass <- UEngine::Init <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine

Any ideas?

Have you patched it to 1.6? Also have you tried running the game in XP SP3 compatibility mode?

If you have Xfire running while you're trying to boot the game, make sure you have Xfire In-Game disabled for RVS.

Steam automatically patches it. No I haven't, how do I do that through steam?

I'm not using XFIRE Yogi, it's off whenever I play.

Lol. That's West who said that ^_^

But other than patching and xfire, I've got nothing. Sorry. Good luck!

Right, ok...Right click on your executable for Rvs (desktop icon) click on properties, then select the compatibility tab. You will then see a checkbox to allow you to run Rvs in compat mode, then select from the dropdown, a version of XP, apply, save and all that mumbo...then run Rvs Wink

Same error for XP, 7 in compatibility mode. I tried running as administrator too, no luck.

Anyway I can download the patch manually?

Updated my drivers, running 8gig RAM so no problems there.

"Can't find file for package 'R6Menu' "

Hmm, mb something during the installation went wrong. Did you tried to reinstall it?

"Video: No Video"
Sounds also strange. What kind of monitor do you use? I personally had some troubles with different screen resolutions in RvS, especially wide screen.

yes there is some bugs with resolution, try setting your monitor to 800x600 then booting the game, as a test.

Sorry but how do I do that?

And how do I reinstall on steam?

(I'm not used to steam or technical things as you can tell).

I'm on a laptop so custom size, random size. That is probably the problem, which if so shows how crap RVS is.

Didn't work for 1024 and 800x600...

I've verified the integrity of the game files and steam validated they are undetermined. 3390mb all together. The expansion is there too, Anthena Sword which would add on a little more.

I'll try re-install but I don't know how to... just delete local game content and re-download?

Check that you can re-download the file first Wink And no, hit the start button (or windows key) Go into control panel and click programs and features...There you will find Rvs and options to uninstall.

Works after the re-download and can actually adjust to my custom monitor size. Great news.
