Well hacking your own Tetris has always been a big hobby lol.
The original tetris afaik did not support invisible tetrominoes and I don't really know of any version that does. Not that I've played many implementations =/.
My favorite versions are ksirtet (from kdegames) and the tetris game included in emacs (which is a bloated text editor I use just for playing tetris lol). The increasing speed can be probabatic, especially since I never played Tetris as a kid lol.

Yeah, I think I have an original gameboy with tetris on it still. Don't know where it is though.
