The gameplay sure looks nice. I found another video where you can see et the end how hard the tangos are. Alice Jenkins is nothing compared to them.

Looks promising, hopefully we get the things the we wish we would've gotten out of Vegas and SWAT 5.

You figure community support will be key for an indie game, so I also hope they have a sustainable system prepared for MP.

Well vanilla SWAT started on 5-player coop... so I guess we can't have everything lol.

But yes Cimeries I agree on the importance of AI. We don't really get to see the AI up close and personal too much in the gameplay vids. Also hope the map/weaponry selection is top notch. You have to think they pulled out their best map to demo for us, so hopefully they don't snooze on the rest.

It's still under developement so there's not much to speculate on. If they take the most tactical games for an example there is much to correct and add to make the game into something better than the rest.

Can someone please tell me what kind of special forces will be present and what is the opposition consisted of?

If the game grows to my full expectations I will no doubt buy it. The one thing from the footage I really didn't like is the shoot-to-kill tactic whereas there were no surrendering suspects, civilians and dynamic environment - ie, everything that makes tactical games like SWAT 4 and ArmA 2 fun to play all over and over again.

Hopefully this will change in the future.

As for the Rainbow Six reference in comments, forget about it. Rainbow Six died long ago, R6 Patriots hit the lowest point where you play as an special forces operator who kills patriotic American citizens and even the law enforcement officers that are doing their duty. Civilians are depicted as terrorists, when in fact, you the player are committing the worst crimes imaginable. Even despite enormous pressure, publishers will still publish this game and that spells The End for R6 in my opinion as many hard core tactical players, including myself, will never buy such a game nor its sequels that are about to come.

Maven, as far I know, you play as operators in a PMC. So in short you're skills are hired out to the highest bidder. As far as customisation goes you can have flag countries on your back and different weapons selections/scopes etc from what I've read.

The reason I compared it to Rainbow Six is because it (Original Rainbow Six through to Raven Shield. Everything else after moved towards unrealism) features shoot-on-sight gameplay with some hostage rescue scenarios thrown in for good measure.

Quite different from SWAT gameplay.

You have to realise that if you want cool things and big terrorism scenarios they don't send in law enforcement due to their lack of skill against potentially armed people. If there is much risk, like in RVS games, they will more likely send in a group that knows how to react and aren't afraid to shoot at the minimal uncompliance.

Therefore I think that most scenarios including heavy risk are supossed to be shoot to kill, since the terrorists usually know what they're doing.

P.S Mercenary companies are known to be hardened Special Forces operatives who are used to shoot to kill.

But yeah, a game like this should definetly include hostage scenarios atleast, or some civilians that simply had bad timing.

I agree with the inclusion of non threatening actors. Though I'm pretty sure that they would include them as development goes along.

What I'm seeing people being thrown off about is that it isn't another law enforcement game, they would like to have suspects being compliant and restrain them. While we still might have some of that, it'll probably range around the way RvS does it. I think that's why they emphasized the fact that Takedown is a spiritual successor to the experience of R6 and SWAT 4.

I would also love to have a pretty dynamic scenario in regards to AI behavior, as that increases replayability.

PMC against organized terrorism. That sounds even more exciting because that's how warfare is being done today. Sounds like the game will be heavily team(clan) oriented.

From the E3 screens and intel on the forums the game will feature exotic locations such as Villa's, Penthouses, etc, any other place you would expect PMC to show up when a terrorist group is trying to inflict local damage, in that case shoot to kill isn't far from how it really is.

But I agree with you, Ryan. Takedown should hopefully have something that makes it *really* special. At the moment it looks like a knock-off of the old Rainbow Six games.

Not necessarily a bad thing, 'cos Raven Shield is quite the legit tactical shooter, but it'll have to do something quite original to stand out from the 10 year old shooter we know and love (other than the paint job).

But it certainly looks like it's a breath of fresh air in comparision to all these COD 'Regen health' games that have been coming out the past few years though. So I guess that's a victory anyway!
